Tweed Yarn Knits – Gestricktes aus Tweedgarn

I will have to try to knit something with Tweed yarn soon. Very soon. For quite a while I’ve been sneaking around different Tweed yarn, but never had a suitable project at hand, if you know what I mean.

But then this happened: I won a whole book with projects knit with Tweed yarn!

Carina from Häkelmonster had put up this book on her blog that you could win and fortunate as I was, I won it. You know, I never win anything. And then I win both a Meet’n’Greet with Arne & Carlos on DaWanda’s Facebook page and this lovely book. All in one month! December is officially my lucky month now.

Anyways, translated the book is called something around the lines of “Handicrafts with Tweed Yarn” by the company Landlust. The book is divided into different sections for e.g. accessories, sweaters, home and out and about, etc.

Below you can see my three favourites from this book. I love the very natural colours in the book, most of them in darker and strong shades, just as I prefer it for the winter seasons. Some of the projects are quick knits and some are a bit more elaborate. All quite lovely!

A big thank you to both Landlust for producing such a lovely book as well as Carina for making this book available on her blog! I’ll definitely be trying some of those patterns and will keep you posted here.

Seit einiger Zeit bin ich von Tweedgarnen faziniert und bin in den Garnläden immer um sie herumgetigert. Bisher hatte ich allerdings kein direktes Projekt zur Hand, zu dem Tweedgarn gepasst hätte. 

Aber dann ist folgendes passiert: Ich habe ein komplettes Buch mit Projekten aus Tweedgarn gewonnen!

Carina von Häkelmonster hatte dieses Buch auf ihrem Blog verlost und ich hab es doch tatsächlich gewonnen. Weißt du, ich gewinne nie etwas! Und dann hab ich im Dezember doch glatt ein Meet’n’Greet mit Arne & Carlos auf DaWandas Facebookseite und auch noch dieses tolle Buch gewonnen. Dezember ist ab sofort mein offizieller Glücksmonat!

Das Buch heißt jedenfalls “Handarbeit mit Tweedgarnen” und ist von der Firma Landlust. Es ist in verschiedene Kategorien eingeteilt, wie z.B. Mütze, Schal & Stulpen, Rock & Kleid, Zu Hause & unterwegs etc. Die Farben und Bilder sind klasse, alles sehr natürlich gehalten und der Großteil der Projekte ist in dunkleren und kräfigeren Farben gehalten – genau wie ich es für die Wintersaison mag. Manche der Projekte sind kleine Projekte, die innerhalb von ein paar Stunden fertig sein können und andere sind etwas anspruchsvoller. Es ist also für jeden Geschmack etwas dabei.

Unten kannst du meine drei Favoriten aus diesem Buch sehen.

I love woollen dresses. Therefore, this one just has to be one of my favourites. It looks really comfy and warm. The only worry I have is how long this might take me. 🙂

Ich liebe Wollkleider. Deshalb muss das folgende auch zu meinen drei Favoriten gehören. Es sieht wirklich gemütlich und warm aus. Allerdings wüsste ich gerne, wie lange ich bräuchte, dieses Kleid zu stricken. 🙂

Copenhagen is a rather cold and wet city most of the year. Wellies are therefore a fixed part of my wardrobe. Unfortunately they are not very warm and even though they keep the feet dry, they certainly do not keep them warm. A pair of woollen inlays sound like an excellent idea to get rid of those cold feet!

Den größten Teil des Jahres ist Kopenhagen eine eher nass-kalte Stadt. Gummistiefel sind deswegen ein fester Bestandteil meiner Garderobe. Leider sind Gummistiefel nicht sonderlich warm und obwohl sie die Füße trocken halten, halten sie keineswegs mollig warm. Ein Paar von diesen Wolleinlagen wäre deswegen genau das richtige für mich, um meine ewig kalten Füße loszuwerden.

My bike is my best friend up here. It brings me from A to B in any kind of weather. And as I mentioned before it can get quite cold as well. A woollen cover for the saddle would therefore be a great idea. A cold butt is in no way desirable and my gran would probably also have warned me of a bladder infection (it’s like I can actually hear her say it). 😉 But as it’s raining quite a bit up here a saddle is a tiny bit unpractical – but very pretty (and a fun idea) nonetheless.

Mein Fahrrad ist hier oben mein bester Freund. In jedem Wind und Wetter bringt es mich von A nach B. Und wie bereits erwähnt, kann es hier oben auch mal etwas kälter werden. So ein toller Wollbezug für den Fahrradsattel wäre da natürlich echt angebracht. Ein kalter Popo (oder auch Böbbes, wie man bei mir zu Hause sagt) ist ja bekanntlich nicht angenehm und meine Oma hätte mich auch garantiert vor einer Blasenentzündung gewarnt (ich hab’s noch in den Ohren). 😉 Allerdings regnet es hier viel, von daher wäre der Sattelbezug dann doch wieder unpraktisch. Aber er sieht wirklich toll aus!
