Wool Chase in Helsinki – Wolljagd in Helsinki

After our relaxing days in the Finnish wilderness we returned to Helsinki. On Instagram I had inquired about tips about yarn shops in Helsinki and @riikpa gave me some valuable advice (if you are on Instagram check out her profile – she has some gorgeous colourful pictures of her knitting on there!).

Unfortunately we arrived in Helsinki rather late and with only an hour until closing time, I managed to drag Mr. Man to only two yarn stores:

1. Snurre – such a lovely store! And the guy (!) in the store was extremely helpful and inquisitive, asking how I heard about the store, what I was looking for and gave me a presentation of basically every yarn they had. What a service! Embarrassingly enough, I ended up buying a skein of Danish wool. D’oh. But what can I say – it was just so incredibly soft, that I couldn’t say no to that.

2. Fiina Neule – They had a fantastic selection of sock yarn in all kinds of colour combinations, so if you’re into knitting socks and are going to Helsinki anytime soon, do make sure you check this one out!

Nach unseren Tagen in der finnischen Wildnis ging es dann zurück nach Helsinki. Bei Instagram hatte ich nachgehorcht, ob jemand wohl ein paar Tipps für mich bezüglich Wollläden hat und tatsächlich hatte @riikpa ein paar tolle Tipps (falls du auf Instagram unterwegs bist, schau dir doch ihr Profil an – sie hat ganz tolle farbenfrohe Bilder von ihren Strickprojekten dort!).

Leider sind wir etwas spät in Helsinki angekommen und es war nur eine Stunde bis Ladenschluss. Aber ich habe es trotzdem geschafft, meinen Liebsten zu zwei Wolläden zu schleppen:

1. Snurre – welch ein süßer Laden! Und der Kerl (!) im Laden war extrem hilfsbereit und neugierig, wie ich denn von ihrem Laden erfahren hatte, was ich denn suchen würde und hab mir so ziemlich jedes Garn einzeln präsentiert. Welch ein Service! Etwas peinlich ist es ja schon, dass ich letztendlich mit einem Knäuel dänischem Garn den Laden verlassen habe. Was soll ich sagen: Die Wolle war einfach so unglaublich weich, dass ich nicht widerstehen konnte!

2. Fiina Neule – Hier gab’s eine riesige Auswahl an Sockenwolle in allen Farbkombinationen. Falls ihr also total auf Socken stricken abfahrt und in der nahen Zukunft nach Helsinki kommt, geht auf jeden Fall hier vorbei!
